Book Party: John Spencer on 20 Times I Almost Died
Please join Josh Wolfe, the Lux Capital team, and your Riskgaming friends as we host John Spencer in honor of the publication of his new book "20 Times I Almost Died: Life Lessons from the Edge of Survival." It's a gripping memoir of survival and resilience, sharing true stories of close calls and the lessons they revealed about living with purpose, character, and strength.
John is the chair of urban warfare studies at the Modern War Institute at West Point. A retired US Army officer with twenty-five years of active-duty service, including two combat tours in Iraq, he is considered one of the world’s leading experts on urban warfare.

Final Play Test of our new game, Flagship Down
Public research universities—the crown jewel of the American education system and the envy of the world—are under duress. Federal funds for basic research are getting slashed. AI is disrupting and undermining the traditional curriculum and reshaping the job market for graduates. Questions of free speech, politics, and protest threaten to tear the campus apart.
We need play testers for Flagship Down, a full immersion Riskgaming scenario, where 8-10 players representing the key, often opposing figures at leafy Flagship University will fight for their interests and their vision of the school’s core mission. Over the course of four scenes—summer break, fall semester, spring semester, and commencement—players will determine the fate of Flagship University. Will it collapse, survive, or thrive?
